We are looking for an Area Operations Manager – Cafes
to lead and oversee multiple cafe branches, ensure operational excellence, maintain consistent product quality, improve customer experience, and drive sales and performance targets.
This role is highly field-driven and requires a strong operational leader who can manage people, standards, numbers, and daily execution with discipline and speed.
Role Objective
The Area Operations Manager – Cafes is responsible for managing the performance of multiple branches within the assigned area, ensuring that each branch operates according to WOODS standards in quality, service, cleanliness, speed, team discipline, and sales performance.
The role requires a hands-on leader who actively visits branches, observes details, identifies gaps, coaches teams, and ensures that corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Branch Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of assigned cafe branches.
- Ensure all branches comply with company SOPs, operating standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor branch readiness, including cleanliness, organization, equipment condition, staffing, stock availability, and overall presentation.
- Conduct regular field visits to branches and document observations, action points, and improvement plans.
- Ensure proper opening, shift handover, and closing procedures are followed.
- Resolve daily operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintain operational discipline and consistency across all assigned branches.
- Ensure branches are always ready for internal audits, management visits, and customer-facing operations.
Product Quality & Customer Experience
- Ensure consistent quality of coffee, beverages, desserts, and food items across all branches.
- Monitor compliance with recipes, preparation standards, product specifications, and quality control procedures.
- Ensure excellent customer experience through speed of service, hospitality, cleanliness, and product consistency.
- Monitor customer complaints, reviews, and feedback, and convert them into clear corrective actions.
- Follow up on recurring quality or service issues until fully resolved.
- Ensure that every customer experience reflects WOODS brand standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead branch managers, supervisors, baristas, cashiers, and operational teams across assigned branches.
- Coach and guide branch leaders on daily execution, people management, service standards, and operational discipline.
- Monitor employee performance, attendance, grooming, behavior, and compliance with company standards.
- Identify training needs and coordinate with the training or operations team.
- Build a culture of accountability, quality, speed, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Support branch managers in solving daily challenges and improving their leadership capabilities.
- Ensure proper manpower planning and branch coverage based on business needs.
Sales & Performance Management
- Monitor branch sales performance and analyze results on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Work on improving key sales drivers, including transaction count, average transaction value, upselling, and product mix.
- Ensure proper execution of promotions, campaigns, new product launches, and in-store sales initiatives.
- Track best-selling and slow-moving products and recommend actions to improve performance.
- Collaborate with operations, marketing, kitchen, roastery, and supply chain teams to improve branch performance.
- Contribute to improving branch profitability through better execution, cost control, and waste reduction.
Inventory, Waste & Cost Control
- Monitor availability of key products, raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies across branches.
- Ensure accurate stock counts, ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation.
- Track waste, spoilage, shortages, and product losses, and take corrective actions to reduce them.
- Ensure proper use of raw materials according to approved recipes and standards.
- Coordinate with warehouse and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product availability.
- Ensure compliance with storage standards, expiry dates, FIFO, and food safety requirements.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare regular performance reports covering sales, operations, quality, complaints, waste, people, and branch readiness.
- Analyze key performance indicators and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Submit clear corrective action plans when performance issues are identified.
- Follow up on action plans until measurable improvement is achieved.
- Recommend practical operational improvements that increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve customer experience.
- Share field insights with management based on real branch observations and data analysis.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cafe, restaurant, hospitality, or F&B operations.
- Previous experience managing multiple branches is required.
- Strong field leadership and operational follow-up skills.
- Good understanding of sales, service, quality, inventory, waste, and people KPIs.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and move frequently between branches.
- Experience using POS systems, operational reports, and performance dashboards.
- Strong communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
