About the Job
The Area Director of Finance is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial performance and operations of BU within the self-operated Hospitality Portfolio of Aldar. Is a key business partner to the Managing Director, providing financial oversight, strategic guidance, and compliance assurance to ensure the successful execution of financial goals across all properties.
About You
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to hotel Finance Directors/Controllers within the self-operated BUβs.
- Serve as a financial advisor to the Managing Director and Corporate Finance, supporting long-term strategic planning and decision-making.
- Drive financial performance through benchmarking, variance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:
- Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for all hotels in the area.
- Review and analyze monthly financial statements, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare consolidated area-level financial summaries and performance commentary for corporate stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure all BU maintain compliance with company policies, local regulations, tax requirements, and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
- Oversee implementation and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage financial audits (internal and external), ensuring timely resolution of findings across properties.
- Operational Support:
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, and other departments to align financial objectives with operational strategies.
- Support pre-opening budgeting and finance setting up for new hotels and renovations.
- Provide financial analysis for capital investment proposals, contract evaluations, and operational changes.
Leadership & Development:

- Facilitate ongoing training and career development for finance team member s.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Advanced degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
