Architectural Draftsman – Shop Drawings & Quantity Take-Off

Role overview

Drawing preparation and coordination

• Prepare detailed shop drawings from IFC/contract drawings, specifications, approved material submittals, and project requirements.
• Develop plans, layouts, sections, elevations, enlarged details, and typical installation details.
• Prepare drawings for raised access flooring, carpet, vinyl/linoleum flooring, expansion joint covers, fire barriers, acoustic insulation, and other specialist finishing works.
• Review drawings for discrepancies, missing information, and coordination issues; coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines.
• Incorporate consultant/client comments, revise drawings for resubmission, and prepare as-built drawings.
• Carry out site measurements and verify dimensions and site conditions when needed.

Quantity take-offs and records

• Perform quantity take-offs from AutoCAD/PDF drawings for materials and works when required.
• Prepare basic quantity summaries in Microsoft Excel and assist estimation/project teams with quantity verification.
• Maintain drawing numbering, revisions, registers, and document records.
• Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, estimation/procurement teams, and suppliers for technical information.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, dimensioned, clear, and suitable for approval and installation; meet project deadlines.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 2 years of shop-drawing experience required; 2–3 years of overall experience requested.
• AutoCAD proficiency and ability to understand IFC/contract drawings and specifications.

Pay

• Pay starts at AED 5,000 per month.
