Application Developer / Software Engineer (AVP)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Java/Kotlin platform components and developer-led automated tests, emphasizing Test-Driven Development.
• Contribute to Agile delivery, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, including design, planning and estimation.
• Analyse assigned work, break it into technical tasks, and maintain project and technical documentation.
• Coordinate system enhancements, new-product delivery and process improvements with management and technical leadership.
• Support production operations, resolve escalated issues, document post-mortems and implement root-cause reliability, performance and scalability improvements.
• Coach junior developers, analysts and graduates.

Knowledge and experience

• Experience in systems analysis and software application programming, and experience implementing successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting or project-management techniques and methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or changing expectations and requirements.
• Java and Test-Driven Development are essential.

Additional technology experience

• Experience with Kotlin, cloud technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift, and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Solace or TIBCO is advantageous.
• Experience with SQL Server, Trino, Mongo, S3, OpenTelemetry, Elastic Stack/ELK or Grafana is advantageous.

Desirable criteria

• An iterative Agile software-delivery background is desirable.
• Previous experience or knowledge of swaps or Prime Brokerage offerings is desirable.

Workplace

• The role has a hybrid working model, with up to two days working at home per week.
