Application Developer

Role overview

Maintenance and support

• Provide support and technical assistance for internal and third-party applications.
• Participate in on-call rotations and assist with after-hours incidents as required.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues; share knowledge and contribute to problem resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain end-user, operational, and technical documentation.
• Support backlog management, prioritization, and Scrum ceremonies.

Solution design and delivery

• Collaborate with senior developers, technical leads, solution architects, and business analysts on software delivery.
• Help translate business requirements into technical solutions and documentation; communicate project progress, issues, and risks.
• Participate in software design, development, testing, implementation, and support across the SDLC.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and performance tests, document results, and support defect resolution.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; strong knowledge of application support and software development practices.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies including DB2, Oracle, and Informix.
• Exposure to AIX and AS400; familiarity or experience with Korn Shell, PCL, or 4GL.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in logistics, distribution, retail, or supply chain environments is preferred.
• Exposure to Blue Yonder TMS, INFOR EXE WMS, or Blue Yonder AWR is preferred.
• Exposure to SAP S/4 HANA and understanding of Agile, Scrum, or other software delivery methodologies are preferred.
