Position summary

Provides operational support for university business applications and their users.

Supports Ellucian Banner and related applications, business process solutions, reports, and system integrations.

Works with IT Services and functional areas to identify needs and apply available technologies.

Essential functions

  • Support users of administrative information systems by phone, email, and meetings.
  • Analyze user access needs and recommend suitable security classes.
  • Coordinate module configuration to support reliable integration across system areas.
  • Monitor patches and upgrades and communicate required updates.
  • Analyze data-integrity issues and determine cleanup steps.
  • Reproduce errors in test mode and evaluate possible solutions.
  • Test and troubleshoot integrated software.
  • Coordinate partner application and integration installation, updates, and configuration with technical staff or vendors.
  • Make production database changes after testing and appropriate approval.
  • Document application processes and backup procedures.
  • Research system problems and solutions using vendor and peer resources.
  • Assess future software features and provide implementation-planning summaries.

Primary support assignment

  • The analyst primarily supports one area: admissions, financial aid, registrar/student systems, or administration and finance functions.
