Required qualifications

  • Graduate in Garment Merchandising, Garment Manufacturing Technology, or a related qualification from a reputed institute.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, including merchandising knitted and woven garments.
  • Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing, materials, quality standards, production flow, and supply-chain planning.
  • Communication and negotiation skills with manufacturers and buyers, including selections, approvals, and feedback.
  • Experience organizing inquiry and order information and working across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with merchandising and production-planning applications, data analysis and presentation tools, Microsoft Office, basic design tools, and online tools.
  • Knowledge of market trends, problem-solving, attention to detail, and apparel compliance standards.
  • Willingness to travel to factories and suppliers across India.
  • A strong active network of knit and woven garment manufacturers, fabric and accessory suppliers, and Indian factories is essential.
  • Export-quality experience is expected; woven fabric knowledge and hands-on experience are an added advantage.
  • Computer proficiency, including email, Word, Excel or Google Sheets, PowerPoint or Canva, PDFs, and basic design tools.
  • Familiarity with flat sketches, colourways, tech packs, specification sheets, and related technical work is expected.

Product development and order execution

  • Develop garment styles with designers from buyer briefs and market trends, aligned with company capabilities.
  • Analyze tech packs, sketches, measurement charts, and garment construction details; develop tech packs with designers and technicians.
  • Coordinate new styles, fabric qualities, washes, prints, embroidery, trims, and accessories.
  • Maintain a flow of samples and information on new fabrics, accessories, and supplier developments.
  • Manage inquiries, source and shortlist materials within target costs, and help convert inquiries to orders.
  • Coordinate sample development and approvals against quality standards.
  • Manage orders from inquiry through sourcing, production, dispatch, and repeat orders.
  • Represent product information and materials—including decks, tech packs, swatches, and samples—in line with company standards.
  • Source clients, negotiate, manage expectations, and deliver orders.
