Job Summary

  • The APP is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. Works in consultation, cooperation, and coordination through a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education
  • Master’s Degree

• Minimum Work Experience

  • No previous experience
  • Required Licenses/Certifications
  • BSN, MSN, or ANP licensed in the state of Texas
  • BLS
  • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies
  • Thorough knowledge of patient triage, diagnosis, and evidenced-based care
  • Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues
  • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising
  • Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
  • Skill in problem solving
  • Skill in verbal and written communication
  • Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
  • Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively
