Analytics and Decision Solutions (AIPC) Lead 1

Role overview

AiPC capability development

• Lead global development and expansion of the AI-driven process control and optimization practice for complex mining and metals operations.
• Combine process expertise, advanced analytics, ML/AI, and control theory to deliver scalable solutions.
• Establish technical standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices to accelerate development, deployment, and value realization.

Project leadership and delivery

• Lead end-to-end delivery using process engineering expertise in AI-driven control and optimization.
• Conduct site visits, control-system reviews, and performance assessments to diagnose constraints and optimization potential.
• Design and execute proof-of-value feasibility studies and develop AI-driven control strategies, process models, and real-time optimization solutions.
• Oversee commissioning, site acceptance, performance validation, operator training, and change management.
• Integrate deployments with existing DCS/PLC systems and operational workflows where required.

Commercial and client engagement

• Support regional go-to-market, pre-sales, business development, proposals, client presentations, and strategic pursuits.
• Develop technical white papers, industrial case studies, and thought leadership materials.
• Build client relationships through publications, conference presentations, webinars, and workshops.
• Advise client leaders and operations teams on practical AI use, improvement opportunities, value cases, and measurable impact.

Experience and skills

• Extensive hands-on operational experience in mining and metals, particularly in mineral processing, pyrometallurgy, or hydrometallurgy.
• Experience running or supporting operations and understanding process KPIs, constraints, operational decisions, and financial performance.
• Experience with Level 1/2 process control and strong knowledge of Level 3 APC and/or RTO systems.
• Experience assessing regulatory control or APC performance and identifying measurable improvement opportunities.
• Hands-on design, development, and live-plant deployment of APC/RTO applications, including model development, online commissioning, and closed-loop control integrated with DCS/PLC.
• Familiarity with industrial IT/OT, historians, OPC, DMZs, cloud/edge, data pipelines, cybersecurity, and real-time data integration.
• Technical consulting, stakeholder engagement, business-case development, value quantification, and change management experience.
• Strong communication skills for technical papers, presentations, client workshops, operator training, and proposal support.

Salary

• Base salary range is CAD 115,000 to CAD 165,000.
• Total rewards may include performance-based incentives, benefits, and other programs; individual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
