Role overview

Responsibilities

• Act as the Branch HR liaison, coordinating hiring with the HR office and hiring managers.
• Complete HR projects, conduct research, and review and coordinate HR-related documents.
• Consult on personnel management issues and support statewide recruitment, hiring, and retention needs.
• Gather and analyze data, identify trends, and recommend systems development and improvement.
• Implement plans of correction and report analysis and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Knowledge or experience coordinating or supporting recruitment, hiring, staffing, or other HR activities.
• Submit a Statement of Qualifications describing relevant HR experience and a complex situation resolved, including skills used and outcome.

Workplace and conditions

• Work is performed in an open-spaced partitioned office environment and involves computer use to review or prepare documents.
• The posting specifies Sacramento County and an in-office work arrangement.
• California residency is required at appointment; lawful authorization to work in the United States is required, and the Department does not sponsor employment visas.

Compensation

• Monthly salary range is $6,031 to $7,547; new state candidates start at the classification minimum or applicable alternate-range minimum.
• Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to a three-percent salary reduction in exchange for five hours of personal leave per month.
