The Baseball Strategy team provides Major League coaches with information and tools for in-game decisions, daily competition, and long-term player growth.

The Baseball Strategy team provides Major League coaches with information and tools for in-game decisions, daily competition, and long-term player growth.
The team is considering applicants at both Analyst and Senior Analyst levels.
The role works with Major League coaches and staff on game preparation, in-game strategy support, post-game review, skill development, and tool or process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with coaches to understand their decisions and identify where analysis can create a competitive advantage.
- Translate observations from coaches, players, and data into testable questions that can inform decisions or improve performance.
- Contribute to game preparation, in-game support, post-game review, and player development while balancing immediate needs and longer-term projects.
- Build and refine analytical resources that fit staff workflows and make information easier to use.
- Collaborate across baseball operations with analysts, researchers, coaches, and performance staff.
Required qualifications
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
- Must synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills and strong knowledge of modern baseball research and technologies.
- Requires proficiency in Python or R and SQL for relational databases.
- Requires familiarity with relevant AI and automation tools.
Desired qualifications
- Experience working with coaches, analysts, or player development staff in a high-performance environment is desired.
- Baseball or other sports analytics research work product is desired.
- Practical or research experience with pitch design and modern pitching development techniques is desired.
- Version control experience and familiarity with GitHub or GitLab are desired.
