Role Description
The Airfield Engineer role at HL Gulf is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kingdom.
The Airfield Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing airfield maintenance and engineering works, including runway, taxiway, and apron inspections, pavement assessments, and lighting and marking systems checks.
This role involves preparing technical reports, drawings, and documentation to support compliance with international and local aviation standards and regulations.
The Airfield Engineer will coordinate with airport operations, contractors, and internal teams to schedule works, manage resources, and ensure minimal disruption to airport activities.
The role also includes monitoring project progress, enforcing safety procedures, and recommending improvements to enhance airfield performance and asset longevity.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Civil, Electrical, or Aviation Engineering) and experience in airport, airfield, or infrastructure projects and Equipments.
- Strong knowledge of airfield design, maintenance practices, and applicable aviation standards and regulations (e.g., ICAO, FAA, local authority requirements).
- Proficiency in technical documentation, reporting, and use of engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, pavement analysis, project management software).
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and oversee on-site works in a safety-focused environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in the Kingdom and travel to other airport locations as required.
- Previous experience in the Middle East aviation or infrastructure sector is beneficial but not required.
