As part of our commitment to technological innovation and digital transformation, we are seeking a visionary and experienced **AI Technology Director** to lead the development and implementation of artificial intelligence initiatives across our maritime and business operations.
Position Overview
The AI Technology Director will be responsible for defining and executing the company's AI strategy, identifying opportunities to leverage advanced technologies, and overseeing the implementation of AI-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, predictive analytics, and business performance.
This executive leadership role will collaborate closely with senior management to drive innovation and position the company as a technology leader within the maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization's AI strategy, roadmap, and innovation initiatives
- Identify opportunities to implement artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, and automation across maritime operations
- Lead AI-driven digital transformation projects throughout vessel operations, logistics, fleet management, maintenance, and administrative functions
- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of AI solutions and intelligent business systems
- Develop predictive models for vessel maintenance, route optimization, fuel efficiency, cargo planning, and operational risk management
- Implement AI-powered solutions to improve safety monitoring, operational performance, and customer service
- Establish AI governance frameworks, cybersecurity protocols, data management standards, and ethical AI policies
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology investments with strategic business objectives
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of AI engineers, data scientists, software developers, and technology professionals
- Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor solutions, and strategic technology partnerships
- Develop advanced business intelligence and analytics platforms to support decision-making
- Manage AI project portfolios, budgets, resources, timelines, and performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Maritime Technology, or a related field
- Master's degree, MBA, or PhD preferred
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive technology leadership experience
- Proven experience implementing AI, machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics solutions in enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing, data architecture, AI platforms, and digital transformation strategies
- Experience leading large-scale technology projects and cross-functional teams
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within maritime services, shipping, logistics, offshore operations, transportation, or supply chain industries
- Knowledge of fleet management systems, vessel tracking technologies, maritime analytics, IoT platforms, and operational technology environments
- Experience with predictive maintenance, computer vision, intelligent automation, and maritime safety technologies
- Professional certifications in AI, cloud technologies, project management, cybersecurity, or data science are advantageous
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations and digital maritime solutions
