Job Title: AI Solutions Lead – Mining Operations (1 Position)

We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking AI Solutions Lead – Mining Operations to drive the identification, development, and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions across mining activities.

The successful candidate will lead initiatives that leverage AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, computer vision, and intelligent automation to improve operational efficiency, safety, sustainability, resource optimization, and decision-making throughout the mining value chain.

This is a strategic and hands-on role working closely with mining engineers, geologists, operations teams, technology providers, data scientists, and executive leadership to transform operational challenges into scalable AI-driven solutions.

Lead the development and execution of AI strategies aligned with mining operational and business objectives.

Identify opportunities for AI deployment across exploration, extraction, processing, maintenance, logistics, safety, and environmental monitoring.

Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and operational teams to define high-value use cases and technical requirements.

Oversee the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions.

Develop predictive maintenance systems to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Lead initiatives involving computer vision, autonomous systems, digital twins, and intelligent monitoring technologies.

Evaluate emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to mining operations.

Manage project timelines, budgets, vendors, and technology partners.

Coordinate data acquisition, integration, governance, and quality management initiatives required for AI projects.

Establish performance metrics and continuously evaluate the effectiveness and business impact of AI deployments.

Promote AI literacy and support organizational adoption through training, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.

Ensure AI initiatives comply with operational, regulatory, ethical, cybersecurity, and safety requirements.

Minimum BA/BSc or MA/MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in AI, data science, digital transformation, or advanced technology implementation, preferably within mining, energy, industrial, or heavy-asset environments.

Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive analytics, computer vision, data engineering, and intelligent automation technologies.

Knowledge of mining operations, mineral processing, asset management, or industrial systems is highly desirable.
