Position
AI/ML Platform Software Developer role supporting a private equity-backed, high-growth B2B SaaS platform serving the dental industry.
The hands-on engineering role focuses on production AI systems, agentic workflows, MCP infrastructure, and reusable platform capabilities.
Location is Calgary, Alberta, or remote within Canada.
Compensation
- Base compensation is CAD 180,000–CAD 220,000. No pay cadence is specified.
What you will do
- Design, build, test, and ship production AI services, agentic workflows, MCP servers, machine learning capabilities, and shared platform components.
- Shape AI platform direction with architecture and engineering teams and establish reusable development patterns.
- Build secure, scalable software across distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native services, and intelligent workflows.
- Own AI capabilities from proof of concept through production, including evaluation, monitoring, iteration, reliability, and operational support.
- Conduct technical design and code reviews and mentor developers through collaboration.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and use Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
Required experience
- 8+ years of professional software development experience building scalable SaaS applications.
- 3+ years designing and deploying production AI applications, platforms, or intelligent workflow systems.
- Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Python or similar technologies.
- Experience building agentic AI systems, MCP servers or similar integration frameworks, machine learning solutions, and LLM-based applications.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and modern software development practices.
- Track record of writing high-quality production code and owning complex production systems.
Bonus experience
- Bonus experience includes LangGraph, Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar production AI platforms.
- RAG, vector databases, semantic search, evaluation, observability, governance, and MLOps are bonus areas.
- Conversational AI, speech technologies, customer-facing AI, and large-scale multi-tenant SaaS or regulated environments are bonus areas.
