Role overview

Design, build, and deploy advanced AI/ML solutions to modernize mission systems and support decision-making across the national security ecosystem.

Work spans data processing, model development, MLOps, and integration of scalable AI capabilities into operational environments.

Partner with cross-functional engineering teams, mission subject-matter experts, and product teams.

What you will work on

  • Develop NLP, LLM-based, deep learning, and computer vision models aligned with mission requirements.
  • Build scalable data pipelines for training, evaluation, and model improvement.
  • Develop production systems, including microservices, APIs, automation frameworks, and cloud-native or edge AI services.
  • Integrate AI/ML into operational environments, focusing on security, reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Tune and version models and conduct A/B testing.
  • Use modern software engineering patterns and distributed systems practices; prepare documentation and contribute to design reviews.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years developing ML models such as NLP or LLM, computer vision, deep learning, generative AI, or reinforcement learning.
  • Experience developing AI/ML capabilities for microservice stacks and production APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
  • Experience with data processing frameworks and scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
  • Experience designing, configuring, or deploying software systems in operational environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.

Preferred qualifications

  • GPU programming, including CUDA or RAPIDS; AWS and model containerization in classified environments.
  • LLM orchestration, RAG, grounding, hallucination mitigation, MLOps, distributed training, or hybrid cloud experience.
  • Automated testing, model evaluation, CI/CD, GitLab, Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes experience.
  • Master’s degree in a related field or AI/ML, cloud, or solution architecture industry certification.

Compensation

  • Projected compensation range is $99,000 to $225,000 annualized USD; the estimate depends on location, qualifications, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements.
  • Benefits include health, life, disability, financial and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work-life programs, and dependent care.

Hiring information

Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for classified information access.

Interview and assessment responses are expected to reflect the candidate’s own skills; AI assistance is prohibited unless explicitly permitted.

The posting states that selected applicants may need to complete identity verification and appear on camera during interviews and assessments.
