AI Manager - Language Models (Canada Remote)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead development of LLM-driven machine learning solutions.
• Work across data curation, model training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and feedback.
• Apply solutions to 911 call handling, dispatch, case management, retail, commercial security, and infrastructure management.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers and research scientists to build scalable ML products.
• Create reusable components connecting research teams and production engineering.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of machine learning experience; the description also states 8+ years of combined researcher experience and/or a postgraduate quantitative science or engineering degree.
• At least 2 years of direct technical team management experience.
• Experience managing an LLM-based solution from inception to market and cloud-based software engineering.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

Desired qualifications

• Public safety or enterprise software development experience is desired.
• Experience managing engineers and researchers and working with UI/UX and product management is desired.
• Experience incorporating UX guidance into LLM design, testing, and training methods is desired.
• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and best practices is desired.

Compensation

• Target base salary range is CAD $180,000–$200,000 per year.

Workplace

• Candidates may reside anywhere in Canada; the role is remote.

Travel

• No travel is required.
