The role focuses on production AI applications, including LLMs, RAG, agents, and ML APIs.
Responsibilities
- Integrate third-party and in-house models, embeddings, and ML APIs into robust microservices and user-facing flows.
- Design and implement retrieval, context assembly, tool integration, guardrail, and fallback pipelines.
- Own production reliability for AI services, including latency, throughput, cost, observability, circuit breakers, and model or prompt versioning.
- Collaborate with data scientists to productionize model outputs as stable APIs and workflows.
- Implement logging, feedback capture, and lightweight online evaluation hooks for AI feature quality.
- Ensure safety, security, and compliance through prompt-injection defenses, PII handling, abuse and hallucination controls, and audit trails.
- Contribute to internal AI tooling, including SDKs, templates, and reusable components.
Ideal Profile
- Strong software engineering experience in Python and one of Node.js, Java, or Go.
- Experience with REST or gRPC APIs, queues, and microservices on cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience shipping at least one AI-powered product to production.
- Practical knowledge of prompts, context engineering, embeddings, vector search, and basic evaluation metrics.
- Understanding of latency and cost trade-offs for AI features.
- Solid understanding of integrations with third-party AI providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic and vector databases.
- Hands-on experience with at least one agentic framework such as LangGraph.
