Role overview

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze client requirements; design user interfaces and write maintainable code and specifications.
• Translate business needs into technical designs, prototypes, and demonstrations; work in Agile delivery.
• Address distributed systems problems involving scheduling, resource management, messaging, caching, and infrastructure automation.
• Solve data and analytics problems at scale and apply machine learning and AI to business problems.
• Build user experiences, testing and CI/CD automation, APIs, and platform extensibility models.
• Teach clients to deliver commercial software and services at scale; collaborate and build trusted client relationships.

Skills and attributes

• Use distributed systems, infrastructure automation, machine learning, and AI in software and platform delivery.
• Apply Agile development, application development tools, quality assurance practices, and strong communication.
• Build client relationships and explain complex ideas clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; typically at least 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• 3–5+ years with Angular or similar frontend frameworks; strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular knowledge.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Temporal, Generative AI, and agent development.
• Design APIs and microservices using Java, Python, FastAPI, and OpenAPI.
• Integrate authentication using Keycloak, OAuth2, OIDC, and Azure Active Directory.
• Experience with data visualization tools and commercial dashboards, TDD or unit testing, complex codebases, and frontend performance practices.
• Experience leading and growing technical talent is listed as an ideal qualification for software engineering managers.

Work arrangement

• EY uses a team-led hybrid model; client-serving staff are expected to work together in person 40–60% of the time over an engagement, project, or year.
• Regular client travel may be required.

Compensation and benefits

• US base salary range is $102,500–$187,900; specified higher ranges apply in New York City Metro, Washington State, and California excluding Sacramento.
• Compensation varies based on factors including education, experience, skills, and geography; benefits include health and dental coverage, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
