Job Purpose

Role & Responsibilities

• Ensure effective cascading of the departmental strategy into operational business plans for vertical alignment and horizontal integration.
• Contribute to the development of Marafiq's long-term strategy and strategic plan considering market dynamics, competitors, and growth opportunities.
• Provide strategic expertise to leadership on future business scenarios to shape long-term business goals.
• Conduct market research and analysis to inform the long-term planning process.
• Design and develop scenarios to determine potential operational impact and prepare risk mitigation strategies.
• Prepare detailed reports on findings and forecasts with strategic recommendations for management decision-making.
• Explore and evaluate potential business growth opportunities within and outside Royal Commission areas using the New Growth Opportunity Evaluation Procedure.
• Provide recommendations based on market dynamics, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
• Provide expert advice on strategic options for joint ventures and integrate them with overall supply planning.
• Liaise with stakeholders to build trust and understanding while upholding business ethics and addressing critical issues.
• Lead identification of continuous improvement opportunities for systems, processes, and practices considering global standards, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Provide input and implement policies, systems, and procedures for the assigned team.

Minimum Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, strategic management, economics, or a related field.
• Preferred: a master's degree in engineering or a related field.

Minimum Experience Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in utility projects, strategic planning, business development, or a related field.
• Experience in utilities or energy sector planning and managing utility projects, particularly in water, power, and wastewater sectors with focus on project sourcing and evaluation.
• Experience conducting detailed feasibility studies and developing robust business cases.
• Strong understanding of utility projects' techno-commercial, financial, and operational aspects.

Professional Certifications

• Relevant certifications in Utilities Management, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED, Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or Professional Engineer (PE) are preferred.
