About the role
Part-time, ongoing role supporting the operating theatres and perioperative leadership team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Based primarily at theatre front reception, supporting daily operations and assisting the floor coordinator.
What you will do
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and provide a professional front-of-house presence for the operating suite.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and liaise with theatre staff, hospital employees, and company representatives.
- Manage staff lockers, theatre access, consumables, deliveries, and maintenance requests.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients; provide clerical and basic IT support to perioperative staff and wards.
- Assist the Theatre Floor Coordinator, audit documentation, run reports, and scan and upload post-operative documents to Epic.
About you
- Relevant clerical experience and strong administrative and computer skills, including the Microsoft suite.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and highly developed customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, flexibility, and reliability.
- Knowledge of perioperative services is desirable.
- Electronic medical records experience is desirable, preferably with Epic and iPM.
Schedule
- Part time ongoing, 32 hours per fortnight.
