Location and work pattern

  • The role is based in London and has a full-time hybrid work pattern.

Role overview

MS Amlin’s ESG Re team is expanding its reinsurance solutions for climate risks, nature loss, socioeconomic fragility, and other systemic risks.

The role provides dedicated risk-assessment and pricing capability for ESG Re, working closely with Actuarial Pricing and supporting Sustainability, ESG Re, and Reinsurance teams.

The position combines quantitative analysis and commercial judgment to support new revenue streams and resilience-related solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assess technical submissions across climate, nature, health, conflict, and systemic risks, including exposure, structure, expected loss, and rate-on-line guidance.
  • Develop transparent data-driven risk assessments and pricing approaches; challenge data, assumptions, catastrophe outputs, and methodologies.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on expected losses, pricing, renewals, treaty and portfolio structures, layer terms, loss histories, and accumulation.
  • Structure innovative products and translate unconventional proposals into insurable, commercially priced solutions.
  • Prepare technical material for market discussions and explain pricing rationale, risk appetite, and product value propositions.
  • Collaborate across pricing, model development, data improvement, and Sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in reinsurance pricing, risk analysis, catastrophe modeling, or reinsurance underwriting.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex datasets, evaluate reinsurance structures, and perform technical risk assessments.
  • Confidence challenging assumptions, pricing methodologies, and modeled and non-modeled outputs in emerging or data-constrained environments.
  • Curiosity about industry trends, catastrophe modeling, climate-related risk, and emerging best practices.
  • Collaborative approach across underwriting, actuarial, modeling, and analytics functions; entrepreneurial interest in building new markets.

Role fit

The work supports adaptation finance, resilience in vulnerable communities, and commercially grounded underwriting.

The role involves complex risks where established models may not exist and new data partnerships or proxy data may be needed.
