The Acupuncturist provides professional acupuncture treatments within a structured clinical and wellness setting, delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care in accordance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
The role involves conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of therapeutic care and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed patient consultations, assessments, and case history evaluations.
Develop and implement individualized acupuncture treatment plans based on clinical findings.
Perform acupuncture procedures safely and professionally in accordance with established protocols.
Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document outcomes accurately.
Maintain precise clinical records in compliance with regulatory and documentation standards.
Educate patients on treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care strategies.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control, hygiene, and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals where appropriate.
Maintain professional competency through continued education and adherence to best practice standards.
Perform other related duties as required within the scope of practice.
Qualification/Training
Degree Qualified medical professional who completed additional recognized theoretical and practical academic program in Acupuncture.
Acupuncture program must meet DHP (MOPH) regulatory standards.
Acupuncture Qualification Requirements
Acupuncture Practitioner (without medical/health background)
Minimum 2,500 hours of theoretical and practical academic training
Physician/Dentist (limited to acupuncture practice)
Minimum 1,500 hours of theoretical and practical academic training
Physician/Dentist (general)
Minimum 200 hours of theoretical and practical academic training
Other Healthcare Practitioners (practicing within their professional scope)
Minimum 200 hours of theoretical and practical academic training
Minimum Experience
Minimum 2-5 years clinical experience.
License & Certification
A valid home country license to practice as medical professional is mandatory.
Acupuncture certification.
