The role

Coordinates assignments and deadlines, maintains accounting records, supports VAT and AML/KYC compliance, and follows up proactively to prevent missed work.

The role involves process ownership, issue spotting and appropriate escalation.

Project and assignment coordination

  • Maintain the CRM workspace with new assignments, owners, deadlines, deliverables and statuses.
  • Follow up on pending and overdue work and flag at-risk tasks before client or statutory deadlines are affected.
  • Prepare concise daily status updates and weekly assignment summaries.
  • Monitor the FTA portal twice daily for registrations, filings, notifications and pending actions; alert the responsible team member.

Accounting

  • Record accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, bank and general ledger transactions with supporting documents.
  • Process invoices, quotations, supplier payments and approved employee expense claims.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate differences; review the general ledger and trial balance for errors or unusual balances.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and financial statements.

Compliance and administration

  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review, reconcile input and output VAT, track payment deadlines and maintain compliance records.
  • Maintain AML/KYC files covering client identification, UBO and ownership information, and periodic reviews; flag unusual activity and escalate to the MLRO or Compliance Officer.
  • Send client reminders on VAT, Corporate Tax and other assigned matters.
  • Maintain employee leave records and support payroll and end-of-service information.
  • Suggest practical improvements and automation for repetitive processes.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; ACCA, CMA or CPA certification or progress toward one is a plus.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in accounting or administration; UAE audit, accounting or tax firm experience is ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, reconciliations, ledger classification and trial balance review.
  • Working knowledge of UAE VAT, including return preparation and input/output VAT reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated task or project management skills for tracking deadlines, follow-up and prioritisation.

Tools and communication

  • Hands-on accounting software experience; Zoho Books or Tally preferred, with QuickBooks or similar acceptable; advanced Excel required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and professional communication with colleagues and clients.
  • Attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality, especially regarding AML and client information.
  • Project management tools, FTA portal, goAML, UAE AML/KYC, Power BI or similar reporting tools, and Corporate Tax basics are preferred.

What the employer offers

  • A role with ownership and visibility to senior management.
  • Exposure to UAE tax, accounting and compliance work.
  • Structured onboarding and a clear growth path.
  • Competitive salary package; no salary amount or pay cadence is specified.
