Accounting Manager

Role purpose

Accounting and reporting

• Record financial transactions and complete monthly close activities for US GAAP reporting to regional management in Europe and the US consolidation team.
• Perform or review account analyses and reconciliations for compliance with internal policies, SOX, and internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting materials and assist external auditors during the annual statutory audit.
• Analyze operating expenses by cost center and division.
• Serve as a contact for shared services, internal audit, group consolidation, payroll, tax, and treasury.
• Assist the CFO with leading and managing the accounting team.

Working capital and disbursements

• Maintain adequate working capital and monitor collections and outstanding customer claims.
• Review disbursement transactions for financial-control and FCPA compliance.
• Oversee employee expense reimbursement audit processing and American Express activity monitoring.
• Manage monthly expense budgets versus actuals, sponsorship activities, and related financial compliance approvals.
• Oversee monthly accruals and coordinate payment processing with the Shared Service Center, following up on issues and resolving them in a timely manner.

Compliance, planning, and projects

• Work with the Compliance Committee to monitor marketing-activity outliers and review supporting documentation and appropriate remediation.
• Support Financial Planning with headcount and cost-center expense analysis.
• Lead the financial business module and Purchase-to-Pay SAP implementation project.
• Forecast financial requirements, prepare annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor revenues and expenses; coordinate financial data collection, consolidation, evaluation, and special reporting.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, and financial confidentiality.
• Advise departments on accounting policies and operational improvements and monitor applicable legal and regulatory changes.

Experience and qualifications

• Requires at least five years of accounting or finance experience and at least two years of people-management experience.
• Requires professional accounting certification or chartered-accountant status, a master's degree in financial accounting from a recognized international institute, or current pursuit of such certification; an MBA in Finance with relevant experience is also described as desirable.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred but not mandatory; Big 4 experience is highly desirable.
• Requires project management ability, experience in a matrix organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
• Requires fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Requires ERP proficiency, preferably SAP FI, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables and macros.
• The source lists Saudi nationality as preferred.
