Role Description
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the organization's accounting function and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.
The successful candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, maintain effective internal controls, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
The Accounting Manager will collaborate with finance, business, and external stakeholders to support financial planning, improve accounting processes, and provide reliable financial information that supports strategic decision-making and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal control procedures.
- Maintain and strengthen financial controls, accounting processes, and governance practices.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and facilitate the timely resolution of audit findings.
- Monitor cash flow, account reconciliations, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Manage accounting systems, financial records, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support business initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, financial reporting, and internal control principles.
- Knowledge of applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent are an advantage.
