Accounting & Financial Reporting Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly close and reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, schedules, and variance explanations.
• Prepare GAAP-based reconciliations for bank, balance sheet, revenue and commission-related, prepaid expense, accrual, and other assigned accounts.
• Assist with internal reports, KPI reporting, financial statement schedules, executive reporting, and recurring financial and operational deliverables.
• Support audit, lender, investor, board, and other external reporting; tie out financial data to source systems and reporting packages.
• Support future SEC and public-company readiness with tie-out support, data validation, PBC schedules, and disclosure support as applicable.
• Reconcile data between operational systems and accounting or reporting systems, including NetSuite, close management tools, BI tools, and spreadsheet models.
• Maintain reporting templates, data checks, process documentation, close calendars, and audit-ready support.
• Partner across Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Technology to research variances and improve data consistency.
• Identify manual workflows and reporting pain points, recommending process improvements, automation, or stronger controls.
• Provide general accounting support, including AP-adjacent activities, expense review, cash activity, system testing, special projects, and ad hoc analysis.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting, financial reporting, audit, FP&A, finance operations, or related experience.
• Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and large datasets.
• Understanding of basic GAAP, close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement concepts.
• Analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines amid shifting priorities.
• Written and verbal communication skills; ability to trace source-system data to reported outputs and prepare clear support.
• Ability to work independently, surface issues proactively, and follow through with professionalism, ownership, integrity, and accuracy.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting close, audit schedules, financial reporting, or reconciliations in a growing organization.
• Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, QuickBooks, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Google Sheets automation, or similar systems.
• Experience in real estate, brokerage, transaction-based, marketplace, or services-based industries.
• Exposure to external, investor, lender, board, or SEC reporting; IPO or SOX readiness; or financial statement tie-outs.
• Experience supporting ERP transitions, system implementations, reporting automation, data validation, or process improvements.
