Role overview

Premium accounting and bordereaux

• Monitor and record broker premium receipts and allocate collections to the appropriate underwriting accounts.
• Reconcile underwriting records, broker statements, and bank receipts; investigate discrepancies and follow up on outstanding premiums.
• Process premium settlements to participating members or insurers and maintain monthly Insurance Bank Account reconciliations.
• Review monthly and quarterly bordereaux reports and validate premium data against underwriting platform and bank records.

Technology, controls, and close

• Use internal digital platforms to monitor premium flows and support reconciliation automation and process improvements with ATOM and Finance teams.
• Follow IFRS and internal policies; maintain audit and regulatory documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Support applicable DFSA regulatory reporting, monthly book close, Insurance Bank Account transactions, and preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Candidate requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in insurance, reinsurance, an MGA, or an insurance broker.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent finance-related qualification is preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Computer literacy with good PowerPoint and Excel skills; understanding of accounting systems, particularly SAP, is an advantage.
