The Role:

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Accountant to join our Richlands office. You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial information, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and sharing your expertise to strengthen the team’s overall capability.

Key Responsibilities:

Calculate and post end of month provision and accrual journals

Prepare end-of-month and end-of-year reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and lease accounting journals

Prepare financial reports for internal and external use

Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns

Maintain the asset register and manage additions/disposals

Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Respond to audit requests and provide supporting schedules and documentation as required.

Review the work of team members and providing guidance

Prepare lease accounting journals and reconciliations (compliant with AASB16)

Stay up to date with compliance requirements (e.g., GST, FBT, and Australian Accounting Standards)

Identify and propose resolution for existing and emerging accounting issues.

Evaluate processes and workload to maximise efficiency.

Assist where required with other finance team tasks and responsibilities

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring

Experience in a similar accounting role

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

CA/CPA qualified (or working towards it)

Strong MS Excel skills and experience using ERP systems

A solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards

A proven ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and work independently

Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor team members
