Accountant (Food & Beverage Sector)

About This Role

osition Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting cost control initiatives specific to F&B operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements, ledgers, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar’s accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• F&B Cost Control
• Monitor food and beverage costs, including recipe costing and menu profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with Cost Controllers and Purchasing teams to track ingredient prices and supplier invoices.
• Identify variances between actual and theoretical costs, investigating discrepancies.
• Inventory & Cash Flow Management
• Oversee daily revenue postings from POS systems (Micros, Omega, etc.).
• Reconcile cash, credit card, and bank transactions.
• Support stock audits and ensure accurate valuation of inventory.
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts tailored to F&B operations.
• Provide insights on cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.
• Compliance & Audit
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the F&B or hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of Qatar’s financial regulations and VAT compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and POS software (Micros, Omega).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
