Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Accountant / Bookkeeper to support our retail and e-commerce business in Dubai.
The role has two main priorities.
First, to help bring our accounts fully up to date from the start of the business by reviewing historical transactions, reconciling records, identifying missing documents, and organizing the books properly.
Second, to manage ongoing bookkeeping and accounting support on a day-to-day basis.
The ideal candidate should be practical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with incomplete records, bank statements, supplier invoices, POS reports, Shopify reports, payment gateway statements, and expense records.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and organize historical accounting records.
- Reconcile bank statements, sales, expenses, supplier payments, refunds, inventory purchases, and owner contributions.
- Record daily sales, expenses, purchases, supplier invoices, and payments.
- Reconcile sales from the store, website, POS, Shopify, card machine, payment gateways, and bank deposits.
- Track supplier balances, payables, receivables, inventory costs, and product margins.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, payment records, and supporting documents.
- Support VAT record keeping and VAT filing preparation.
- Prepare basic monthly reports covering sales, expenses, profit, VAT, supplier balances, inventory, and cash position.
- Support payroll, petty cash, staff advances, commissions, and finance admin where required.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, trading, or inventory-based businesses is preferred.
- Experience with accounting cleanup, backdated bookkeeping, and reconciliation.
- Good understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.
- Experience with Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, Xero, or similar accounting software.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Comfortable working independently and bringing structure to messy records.
- Currently based in the UAE and able to join in Dubai.
- Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
