Position Summary
The accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records, reporting processes, and statutory compliance requirements of the organization.
The role requires strong technical accounting capability, attention to detail, and hands-on experience within the UAE financial and regulatory environment, including compliance with Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations.
This position is suited for finance professionals who can ensure financial accuracy, maintain regulatory compliance, and support management with reliable financial data for operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
2.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
3.
Perform bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and customer account reconciliations.
4.
Manage invoicing, vendor payments, expense tracking, and financial documentation.
5.
Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including preparation and timely submission of VAT returns.
6.
Review and verify invoices to ensure correct VAT treatment and compliance with tax invoice requirements.
7.
Maintain VAT records, documentation, and reconciliation schedules as required by UAE tax laws.
8.
Support internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules and supporting documentation.
9.
Monitor cash flow and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets.
10.
Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation schedules.
11.
Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and cost monitoring activities.
12.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all financial transactions and records.
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum 2 – 4 years of relevant accounting experience within the UAE.
- Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and financial compliance requirements.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple financial responsibilities.
Preferred Skills
- Pursuing Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience working in professional services, legal firms, or corporate environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high professional standards.
