Accountant

Overview

Accounting and Financial Expertise

• Process and record day-to-day financial transactions and general ledger entries using the ERPnext software.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, and issue invoices.
• Ensure timely collection of receivables, and follow up on payments.
• Maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.

Reconciliation

• Perform regular bank reconciliations, verify and reconcile discrepancies, and resolve any issues that arise. Ensure the accuracy of financial records and reports.

Payroll Support

• Payroll processing by preparing payroll reports, verifying employee data, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Tax Compliance

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and financial reports for management review.
• Conduct financial analysis to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Expense Management

• Monitor and review expenses, verify receipts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Prepare expense reports and handle expense reimbursements.
• Documentation and Filing:
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
• Ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible.
• Audit and Compliance:
• Support external audit activities by providing required documentation and information. Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERPnext) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience working in a UAE-based organization.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and local taxation regulations is highly desirable.
