The Finance Department is responsible for managing the organizations financial resources and ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across the business.
The department oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls while supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards. **Job Purpose:**
The Accountant will support the Finance team in day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
The role will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing reconciliations, managing vendor transactions, supporting accounts payable activities, and assisting with financial reporting and audit processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**### **Accounting & Financial Reporting**
- Perform general accounting duties and maintain the general ledger
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for inter-company balances, prepaid accounts, accruals, and corporate credit cards
- Record and reconcile vendor transactions and accounts
- Verify travel-related invoices and allocate expenses to appropriate accounts
- Support month-end closing activities and financial reporting processes
- Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
Accounts Payable & Reconciliations
- Process invoices and ensure timely and accurate reconciliations
- Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate with internal departments and vendors regarding payment-related matters
- Reconcile VAT authority accounts with tax return submissions and process required adjustments
Audit & Compliance
- Support external auditors by preparing required documentation and account information
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of financial records and sensitive company information
Finance Operations & Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Finance team members on reporting and operational activities
- Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting function
- Ensure timely completion of assigned accounting and reconciliation tasks
- Assist with additional finance-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualification* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience
- 2 - 3 years of experience as a General Accountant within the UAE
- Previous experience in a fast-paced corporate environment preferred
Skills
