Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Doha, Qatar.
The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording journal entries, processing invoices, preparing payments, and reconciling bank and ledger accounts.
The role involves maintaining accurate general ledger records, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
The Accountant will monitor receivables and payables, track project-related costs, and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable financial regulations.
The position also supports budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and coordination with auditors, vendors, and internal departments as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and cash management.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid MS Excel and other MS Office skills.
- Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis for projects and operations.
- Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
- Previous experience in construction, contracting, or oil and gas sectors in the GCC region is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, and adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
