Account Executive, Commercial

Responsibilities

• Recognize and actively pursue new business opportunities
• Conduct market research on prospects
• Remain current on business issues pertaining to prospects
• Network
• Follow up on leads
• Generate new business revenue by selling insurance coverage to clients
• Manage pipeline of candidates through the use of CORE system
• Maintain existing book of business
• Provide highest standard of client service
• Be flexible to the needs of each client
• Be up-to-date on all current coverage available
• Be proactive in foreseeing and meeting the needs of each client
• Attend client meetings in Coastal trading area
• Attend and actively participate in industry and company events/meetings
• Continue professional development in order to enhance skills and abilities
• Other duties and responsibilities as required
• Skills, Characteristics & Qualifications
• 5+ years of Commercial Insurance experience
• Proven experience in sales process and account management
• Level 2 General Insurance License
• Recognized industry certification preferred (CAIB, CIP, CRM, BCIT Risk Management, etc.)

• The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., discretionary draw plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at a particular time. The expected draw plus commission will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Due to the variable nature of this sales-based compensation structure, more definitive prospective information is not possible.
