Remote | Full-time | EdTech SaaS What if your next sales role gave you the opportunity to do more than close deals? Imagine being the first sales hire in a growing European market, building partnerships with universities, and shaping the strategy that will drive regional growth. Our client is looking for a commercially driven B2B SaaS sales professional who thrives on opening doors, navigating complex sales cycles, and turning promising conversations into long-term partnerships. Why This Opportunity Matters This isn't a role where you'll simply inherit a pipeline and follow an established playbook. You'll be building one. As the first sales hire in Europe, you'll have the opportunity to establish relationships with universities, develop the regional sales approach, and lay the foundations for sustainable growth. You'll own the sales cycle from initial outreach to a signed partnership, with the autonomy to shape how the business approaches a new market. If you're energized by building something from the ground up and want your work to have a direct impact on a company's European expansion, this opportunity is worth exploring. What You'll Own Build the European market from the ground up. You'll develop a pipeline of university prospects across key European markets, initially focusing on the UK, Western Europe, and Northern Europe. From identifying opportunities to securing meetings and advancing deals, you'll take ownership of turning market potential into commercial results. Own the full sales cycle. You'll manage the journey from first outreach to signed contract, leading discovery calls, delivering product demonstrations, developing tailored proposals, and navigating the approval processes involved in university partnerships. Build relationships that lead to lasting partnerships. You'll engage senior stakeholders across career services, alumni relations, and advancement teams, understanding their priorities and connecting them with solutions that address their institutions' needs. Shape the regional sales strategy. As the first sales hire in Europe, you'll help establish the foundations for the company's approach to business development in the region. Your market knowledge and commercial judgment will contribute to how the business positions its offering and develops its European presence. Bring the market closer to the business. You'll work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams on proposals, pricing, and onboarding new partners. You'll also share feedback from university prospects and customers to help refine the product and messaging for the European market. Represent the business across the region. From university conversations to regional conferences and industry events, you'll help expand the company's network, strengthen its visibility, and create new commercial opportunities while maintaining accurate pipeline records and forecasts in the CRM. What Makes You Successful You'll thrive in this role if you're a commercially minded sales professional who combines a strong track record with the initiative to build something new. We're looking for someone with:
- 5–7 years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Experience managing full sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers, complex stakeholder relationships, and lengthy approval processes.
- The confidence to lead discovery conversations, demonstrate value, negotiate proposals, and move opportunities toward signed agreements.
- A self-starting mindset and the ability to work independently across time zones within a small, distributed team.
- Strong written and spoken English, with the communication skills to engage senior stakeholders and build credible business relationships. You'll be particularly well positioned if you've sold EdTech solutions or other software to universities, already have relationships with European career services or alumni relations teams, or have experience as an early or first sales hire in a new market. Fluency in an additional regional language would also be an advantage. Most importantly, you'll enjoy the challenge of creating momentum in a market rather than relying on an established sales structure. What's In It for You?
- Market-building ownership: Take the lead in establishing the company's European sales presence as its first regional sales hire.
- Strategic influence: Help shape the regional sales approach and contribute market insights that inform product positioning and messaging.
- Direct leadership exposure: Report to the CEO and work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams.
- International exposure: Build relationships with higher education institutions across Europe as part of a business already operating across multiple international markets.
- Meaningful impact: Contribute to a solution designed to help universities scale mentoring programs and strengthen career outcomes, engagement, and fundraising.
- The role is full-time and remote, with a flexible location and time zone. Ready to Build Something in Europe? If you're an experienced B2B SaaS sales professional who knows how to navigate complex deals, build trusted relationships, and turn a new market into a real commercial opportunity, this could be your chance to make a meaningful impact. We're interested in people who can bring both proven sales performance and the initiative to build what comes next. Ready to take ownership of a new market and help shape its growth? We'd love to hear from you. Our client is an AI-powered enterprise software company helping universities strengthen career outcomes, increase engagement, and support fundraising through scalable mentoring programs. The company partners with higher education institutions across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia. As it expands its presence across Europe, it is focused on building new university partnerships and extending the impact of its platform. You'll be joining a business at an exciting stage of regional expansion, where market insights, customer relationships, and commercial execution will all play an important role in shaping its growth.
