AC Technician

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair split AC units, package units, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and other HVAC systems.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Check refrigerant levels, detect leaks, charge systems, and inspect major HVAC components.
• Respond to breakdowns, maintain equipment records, follow schedules and procedures, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance personnel during major repairs or shutdowns.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, technical certificate, or vocational training in HVAC, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience as an AC or HVAC Technician.
• Hands-on experience with residential, commercial, or industrial HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, HVAC troubleshooting, refrigerant handling, and HVAC tools.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and technical manuals and work independently or with a maintenance team.

• The technician may need to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or emergency call-outs.

• Minimize HVAC equipment downtime and complete maintenance and repair tasks efficiently and safely.
• Maintain equipment according to preventive maintenance schedules and company safety and quality standards.
• Address customer or user complaints related to HVAC systems promptly.
