The Role
Robo.ai Group is seeking a Director of Public Relations to lead its public relations and corporate communications function, based full-time in Abu Dhabi.
The role covers the Group and its subsidiary brands, including Neurovia AI, and spans regional (UAE/GCC), international, and Greater China media environments.
Because the Group is a Nasdaq-listed company, the role requires close coordination with the investor relations, legal, and finance functions to ensure that all public communications are accurate and consistent with the Group's disclosure obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Group's public relations strategy across the UAE, the wider GCC, China, and international markets
- Lead day-to-day media relations in English and Chinese, including proactive outreach, inquiry handling, and relationship building with regional, international, and Greater China outlets
- Draft and edit press releases, corporate statements, media Q&As, bylined articles, and executive talking points in both languages, to a standard suitable for regulatory and media scrutiny
- Support executive visibility and thought leadership for Group and subsidiary leadership, including interviews, speaking engagements, and contributed articles
- Coordinate with investor relations, legal, and finance to align external communications with the Group's obligations as a Nasdaq-listed company
- Manage external PR agencies, media monitoring services, and related vendors, and oversee the PR budget
- Plan and deliver press events, product and corporate announcements, and milestone communications
- Maintain crisis and issues management protocols and serve as the first point of contact for sensitive media inquiries
- Monitor coverage and sentiment, and report results and recommendations to senior management
Requirements
- Full professional proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to draft publication-ready copy in both languages
- A minimum of five years' experience in public relations, corporate communications, journalism, or a related field
- Sound news judgment and a track record of producing accurate, rigorous copy under deadline
- Familiarity with the UAE and GCC media landscape; established relationships with regional or Chinese-language media are an advantage
- Experience with listed companies or disclosure-sensitive communications is strongly preferred
- Experience in the technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, or mobility sectors is an advantage
- Willingness to be based in Abu Dhabi, with travel within the GCC and to China as required
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
