Role overview
2D Draftsman role in interior design, decoration, and fit-out projects in Qatar.
The role prepares accurate technical drawings and detailed layouts from design concepts and project requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare 2D architectural and interior design drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and joinery drawings.
- Prepare fit-out, furniture, partition, flooring, and ceiling design drawings.
- Coordinate drawings with designers, project engineers, site teams, MEP, and other disciplines.
- Revise drawings to reflect client feedback, design changes, and site requirements.
- Check drawings against specifications, measurements, and execution standards.
- Conduct site measurements and prepare as-built drawings when required.
- Maintain documentation and submit drawings on time; identify and resolve drawing discrepancies.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Previous 2D Draftsman experience in an interior design, decoration, or fit-out company.
- Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Good understanding of interior fit-out drawings, construction details, and finishing materials.
- Ability to interpret design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Qatar experience and knowledge of local construction practices are preferred.
- Current residence in Qatar is preferred.
