Job Description
Emesh Metal Manufacturing LLC is looking for a highly skilled
2d & 3d Draftsman And Cad Designer
with strong hands-on experience in
AutoCAD, shop drawings, structural drawings, co-relation of relevant work, aluminium works, metal cladding, façade systems, and architectural metal fabrication
.
This role requires someone who is not merely a CAD operator, but a technically strong draftsman who can independently understand drawings, develop accurate details, prepare complete shop drawing packages, and work under fast project timelines with precision.
The ideal candidate must have excellent drafting speed, strong technical understanding, and the ability to prepare high-quality drawings for
manufacturing, fabrication, consultant approval, and site installation
.
Experience in façade elevations, cladding layouts, cross-sections, fixing details, bracket details, blow-up details, assembly drawings, and structural steel/aluminium works is essential.
AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory.
Knowledge of Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, Grasshopper, or other 3D/modelling tools will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate
- 2D shop drawings, fabrication drawings, structural drawings, and 3D models
- for aluminium, steel, mild steel, façade, and metal cladding works.
- Develop complete shop drawing packages including plans, elevations, sections, enlarged details, fixing details, bracket details, connection details, and assembly drawings.
- Interpret architectural, structural, consultant, IFC, and project drawings and convert them into clear technical drawings for production and installation.
- Prepare drawings for aluminium panels, expanded metal mesh, metal cladding, architectural features, steel subframes, brackets, supports, and related façade elements.
- Assist in preparing basic structural calculation inputs, material take-offs, quantities, panel schedules, cutting lists, and fabrication-related documentation.
- Revise and update drawings quickly based on consultant comments, site conditions, project requirements, and internal engineering feedback.
- Coordinate with design, estimation, production, project, and site teams to resolve technical drawing issues.
- Conduct site visits when necessary and liaise with site teams.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, buildable, properly detailed, and aligned with project specifications, material requirements, and UAE construction standards.
- Work efficiently under pressure and deliver urgent drawing submissions within tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Maintain organised drawing records, revision logs, file naming, and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum
- 3–5 years of proven experience
- in shop drawings, façade drawings, aluminium works, cladding, metal fabrication, or structural drafting.
- **Advanced AutoCAD skills are mandatory.**
- Candidate must be able to work independently and produce clean, accurate, professional drawings.
- Strong understanding of façade systems, aluminium works, metal cladding, steel supports, brackets, fixing details, and site installation requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural drawings, elevations, sections, and technical specifications.
- Experience preparing drawings for consultant approval, manufacturing, fabrication, and site execution.
- Good knowledge of materials such as aluminium, mild steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, ACP, expanded metal mesh, and cladding systems.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, scale, dimensions, layers, annotations, and drawing presentation.
- Ability to work fast, handle complex details, and manage multiple project drawings at the same time.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, Grasshopper, or 3D modelling software will be an advantage.
Note
Candidates must be able to demonstrate actual drafting capability.
Shortlisted applicants may be required to complete a practical AutoCAD drafting test or submit previous work samples/portfolio showing relevant shop drawings, façade details, sections, and fabrication drawings.
We are looking for a technically capable draftsman who can perform independently, not someone with only basic CAD knowledge.
