REPORTS TO: Health Services Director or Health Services Lead Nurse JOB GOAL: To monitor status and provide and/or assist with medical procedures for a student that requires constant medical supervision and care during the school day as required by the Plan of Care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Monitors students’ medical status during the school day. - Enter medical information into EZ Ed Med. - Provides and/or assists with medical procedures as ordered by the Physician during the school day. - Observation of skin for bed sores. - Provides and assists students with personal care needs during the day. - Administers medication prescribed by a physician. - Notifies Health Services Director or Lead Nurse of changes in student’s health status. - Notifies Health Services Director or Lead Nurse of changes in individual caregiver’s health status. - Notifies Health Services Director or Lead Nurse when absences may occur to determine coverage for students. - Moves patients safely. - Monitors fluid and food intake and output. - Performs special procedures as directed. - Serves as a team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer-driven, and valuing fairness. - Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
