About This Role
Job Purpose
Review and assess environmental studies for industrial and development projects to ensure a thorough evaluation and understanding of their environmental impacts and risks.
Participate in the permitting process for projects and facilities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing environmental studies such as Preliminary Environmental Review, Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA), etc. as required, in order to assess the impact of industrial and development projects on the environment and ensure that studies comply with technical guidelines.
- Participate in receiving and reviewing environmental permit applications and supporting documentation on any missing information to ensure applications are complete and available in a timely manner.
- Support the Analyst- Environmental Assessment and Analysis in reviewing environmental studies, environmental management plans, or environmental reports, as deemed necessary, depending on the submitted project type and scale.
- Support in coordination with other divisions/ sectors (such as Terrestrial and Marine Biodiversity sector) as needed to discuss and share input, and obtain clarifications on environmental studies to ensure analysing environment impact on all environmental areas within the Al-Ain / Al-Dhafra region.
- Participate in preparing and / or updating environment studies technical guidelines to ensure that they reflect local regulations and laws as well as best practice in order to ensure environment studies conducted by EAD approved consultants are comprehensive (e.g. determining impacts, mitigations plans, monitoring efforts, etc).
- Prepare and submit formal documentation on the approval or rejection of the studies for review and approval.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to environmental assessment studies and impact analysis for industrial and development projects in order to facilitate flow of information and build awareness within the region.
- Support in collaborating with Customer Relations division, as required, in order to ensure timely receipt of all related documentation and applications required for environmental assessment activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or any related specialization
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the relevant field; for Bachelor’s Degree graduates
